Philadelphia City Paper named Sex Dwarf as the Best DJ Night to Get New Wave Nostalgic At:Maybe only a handful of you remember Old City's Club Revival during the late '80s/early '90s. DJs Robert Drake (of WXPN fame) and Marilyn Thomas resurrect the vibe by mixing up The Cure, Siouxsie, Love & Rockets, Bauhaus and almost always a little Joy Division. Sex Dwarf was once held every last Tuesday of the month, but the party became so damn good, Fluid nightclub moved the night to a Friday night! - Philadelphia City Paper
In 2006, the readers spoke out and voted Sex Dwarf the BEST DANCE PARTY IN PHILLY, proclaiming "Five hours of sweaty fun spun by the best DJ in town" and also awarded me BEST LOCAL DJ, saying that "This dude has resurrected the authentic new wave culture single handedly in Philly."
